Throughout the 1970s and 80s the company traded hands and Mahlon Miller became the new president in addition to Newmar entering the Class A market. In 1990, the company introduced two motor coaches: Dutch Star and Mountain Aire. Both are still being used today.
Throughout the 1990s the company added features such as the first traditional slideouts and flush floor slideouts in a Class A coach as well as being the first manufacturer to offer full body paint on both their towable and motorcoach products.
In 2006, before the economic recession, Miller’s son Matt became the new president of Newmar. His decision to exit the fifth wheel segment that helped shape the company decades earlier and focus more on crafting the Class A motorhomes was a decision that made their company stronger and more successful into the present day.
